Being an overly shy and introverted 11 year old with terribly poor socializing skills... I was obviously terrible when it came to talking to girls, especially pretty girls, and now I was seriously crushing on a girl who I just realized wasn't just pretty but beautiful, and who was clearly out of my league, but for some odd reason also seemed a bit interested in me. But at that age I was completely clueless of what to do about the feelings which I felt... I mean, the right thing to do in this sort of situation would have been to try and hold a reasonable conversation with my crush since she seemed a bit interested in getting to know me as well, right? But I freaking did the opposite.
Since my crush (who I would be calling Angel for the purpose of this story) sat in front of my best friend's desk, I stayed at their class for every night prep, and why I did this wasn't so I could start a conversation with her, NO! I stayed at their class for every night prep hoping that she would start a conversation with me. Arrrggghhh! I know right? So dumb. But it did kinda work... Since I was scared of starting a conversation with her, I always did my best to impress or get her attention with the things which I thought was cool that I could do, an example would be singing... "Wait, what... SINGING??? So David you were shy to start a conversation with her but singing to her felt normal to you? Mehn... David you were such a weirdo." Would be what y'all would be thinking right now, but I didn't really walk up to her and be like, "Babe this song is for you" and start singing (but that's how it played out in my imagination though), NO! I just usually sang from where I was sitting and hoped she realized the song was for her. Another thing which I did to impress her was my drawing, I mean, I wasn't the best at it but for an 11 year old I was bursting nuts at it... There was a time I made a portrait of her and she was completely unaware of the fact that I was drawing her but when she saw it after I was done, she loved the drawing so much that she pasted it in her locker, you can imagine how I felt, right? Like I HAD MADE IT IN LIFE.
Anyway, to every romantic story there must be a villain and for the purpose of this story I'm gonna call the villain, Hammer (I chose this name because the nigga had a really big head at the time)... Hammer was the class prefect of C class and he also had feelings for angel, so to him I was a threat to be eliminated and he did try to eliminate me, literary... I'm being serious when I say the dude hated me, he really did. He even had a dream which I, him and Angel were all in and guess how the dream ended... He got Angel, obviously, while I lost my head (what sort of psycho has that kinda dream). And since I always came to his class, I was always in enemy territory and he wasn't ashamed to use it to his advantage... He would always write my name in the names of noise makers and all of a sudden a rule against staying in a class that wasn't yours during night prep was made, I didn't know how, but I knew he was behind it and whenever the teacher who was on duty during the night prep walked into the class he would report my sorry ass that I wasn't a member of the class even when the teacher didn't ask, and the teacher would flog the hell out of me, but that didn't stop my dumbass from going back to that class again and again only to get my ass whooped.
Hammer really did me dirty, but what's actually funny is that neither I nor Hammer dated Angel since she left the school after our Js3, but we (I and Hammer) became really close friends, he was and will always be one of my most treasured friends back in that school.
A completely useless fact: If I ever do see Angel again I'm gonna demand a kiss, I think I deserve that much after all I went through, right guys?
